This is the second workshop for Microsoft Office that we held with the teachers in Zambia. In the second picture we also taught Accounting and other subjects to several pupils in Zambia at St Paul’s Secondary School.
We have started a pilot project in Zambia and have been conducting several workshops for several subjects as well as Microsoft Office at the St. Paul’s Secondary School. We started in 2016 with just one of the schools that we had visited in 2015 for the first time. We wanted to see if our concept functioned on a small scale before holding more workshops in the other schools throughout Zambia.
The principals of the four schools act as our contact persons. However, the pupils, their parents and teachers, who are all involved in the workshops and will benefit from the workshops, and are our direct beneficiaries.
Woodlands “A” Secondary School
Here are some pictures of the first partner school. This school is both a primary and a secondary school. Our work is mainly focused on the secondary school which will be to provide it with internet access, computers and school supplies.
Kamulanga Secondary School
This school urgently needs additional rooms for seminars and the sitting of examinations. We have been very impressed by it because pregnant girls, and also those who do not have enough money to pay their school fees cannot be easily dismissed from the school which is often the case in Africa.
Chinika Secondary School
We support this school with the construction of a new classroom, a library and a laboratory for physics and chemistry.
St Paul´s Secondary School
The laboratories in this school were much better equipped compared with those in other schools. We were particularly impressed by the water tanks which collect the water during the rainy season. This rainwater is used later for watering plants. These tanks enables the school to make a significant contribution to reducing its costs by conserving natural resources.
