The Association IMFUNDO was formerly established under the name of Education for an outstanding future (EFOF). ‘Imfundo’ is the word for ‘education` in Ndebele, one of the spoken languages of sub-Saharan Africa.
I was in Zambia in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and worked very closely at the local level with the Ministry of Education. Four schools were selected as our direct beneficiaries to begin with. We started to conduct workshops at one of the schools, St Paul’s Secondary School before running them at the other schools throughout Zambia. We wanted to ensure that our concept would be implemented in accordance with our goals and to see if the collaboration with the Minister of Education as well as the schools runs smoothly and efficiently before taking any further steps. You can read more about my trips to Africa under “News”.
I would like to personally request your support so that we can fight together as Europeans against the misery in Africa by utilising education as a weapon because we are convinced that education is the beginning of an upward spiral. Education strengthens the independence, self-confidence and contributes holistically to the growth of the economy of Africa. We are convinced that by locally improving the education offered, and creating opportunities for a better future in their own countries, illegal and mostly unsuccessful migration to Europe will be reduced.
